Popcorn ceiling removal across the DMV
Popcorn ceilings went up in most of the DMV from the 60s through the 80s. They catch dust, they are impossible to patch, and they date a room the second you walk in. Taking them down is messy work that goes smoothly when the prep is right.
Or call or text (443) 998-2738. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.
How the job goes
We cover everything, wet the ceiling, scrape it to the board, then skim coat the whole thing so the joints and the old scrape marks vanish. Two coats of compound, sand, prime, flat ceiling paint. The room is back the same week with a ceiling that looks like a new build.
Jobs we take
- Scrape and skim, one room or the whole floor
- Asbestos test on ceilings from before 1990
- Ceiling repairs found under the texture
- Flat ceiling paint after the skim
- Light and fan box swaps while the ceiling is open
- Knockdown texture instead of smooth, if you want it
What it costs
Popcorn removal is priced by the room and the ceiling height, and the estimate says the number before anyone sets up a drop cloth. A test on a ceiling from before 1990 comes first, because asbestos changes who can do the work.
