Water damage drywall rebuild, after the leak is fixed

A ceiling stain means the leak came first and the drywall is the symptom. We rebuild the ceiling or the wall after the plumber, the roofer or the sprinkler contractor has fixed the source. If the source is not fixed yet, tell us, and we will open the ceiling so the trade can get to it and come back to close it.

Tell us what needs fixing. We text back within the hour, 8 to 6.

Or call or text (443) 998-2738. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.

How the job goes

Wet drywall gets cut out to the framing, the cavity gets a moisture reading and a fan if it needs one, and new board goes in. Tape, three coats, sand, prime with a stain blocking primer so the old stain does not bleed through, then paint. A DC ceiling opened and patched after an emergency leak ran $293 this September.

Jobs we take

  • Ceiling stains and sagging ceilings
  • Walls under windows and behind tubs
  • Access holes for plumbers and sprinkler contractors
  • Insulation replaced in the cavity
  • Stain blocking primer and paint
  • Mold wiped and treated on small areas, and we say when it is bigger than that

What it costs

A rebuild is priced by the opening and the finish. A ceiling leak drywall repair in DC, with a tissue holder rehung on the same visit, ran $215 in September. An emergency call where the ceiling was opened and patched the same day ran $293. Both numbers are from this year, labor and materials.
